My wife's 2006 Doblo 1.3 Multijet 85bhp entered limp mode today.:(
Upon connecting Fiatecuscan, it is showing an overboosting issue. Upon clearing the code and driving the car, it drives fine until revved hard when the issue arises again.
Having had little experience in turbo problems, any advice would be appreciated. Can I use Fiatecuscan to help diagnose the problem?
I spoke to a mechanic who suggested a stuck open EGR valve and that physically blocking it might help - would that cause this and/or help?
I have also read about "wastegates" sticking or "vanes" sticking - how do I know what type of turbo is on the car and what could I try here.
Please, any advice as garage bills are not really an option at the moment.
Sorry for the long post and thanks for looking.

Extracting code(S) is only the start of proper diagnosis and all too often leads people down the wrong road.

From your description I would first check the wastegate is operating, its a simple, quick and free test to carry out.

Many thanks for your reply.(y)
Sorry for my ignorance, but how do I go about checking the wastegate?
I have not yet located the turbo on the car and have no idea what the wastegate looks like or how to check it.
Again, thanks for any help.

Quick update for anyone with similar issues.
I Discovered how to check wastegate and it is working fine.
However, upon closer examination the large hose leading down from the MAF sensor was hanging loose at the bottom as the clip holding it had become slack. I replaced the Fiat clip with a good old fashioned jubilee clip and so far all is well again.
I have tested (thrashed!!!) the car with no more warning lights so far.
