I had a probelm during the week with much reduced power from engine and what seems like limited Revs to 3010revs. Skimming the forums I noted issues with the ERG? Valve . The Exhaust recirulation valve. It seemed like a good place to begin so I stripped it out this evening and found a lot of black dust in the valve section. The small 3mm dia) piston which actuates the valve was stuck. This frred up with some WD 40 and cleaning. On re assembly I found that the problem seems to be cured and i am back to full power and revs I think.

My only problem is that the Injection warning light is still on! I see some mention in an old thread that you need 3 consecutive starts with no issues to re set the warning light ? Has anyone any info or experience of this.

Do I have to go to a main dealer to get the l am re set or can any Garage with Electronic system do the job?

Does anyone know what actual sensor causes the lam to come on All I see in the Valve is a 12 V supply to turn it on or off ?

Anyone got a wiring diagram tor this engine?

Have you done three starts to see if it works? Fiat will read and reset the codes for around fifty quid.

Will try the 3 starts as suggested . Thanks , Farran Fiat

The three starts didn't work for me when my egr broke. It may just be a myth. Though on mine the fault came back on the third start after clearing the code. When mine went it was an electrical fault so had to be replaced. The solenoid had packed up. Therefore cleaning it wouldn't have helped.

I re started her this morning and the light is not going off. The problem is definately sorted as regards power and ability to rev. I will probably buy and fit new solenoid anyway.

i'm wondering about the Mass Flow Sensor. I see on some thread that this is mounted close to the ERG Valve and can get dirty easily. Is this the sensor which monitors the ignition system for the the ECU ? I might try to open and clean . Anyone any experience of this?

I'm generally of the opinion that it's best to get the codes read before replacing stuff. You could spend the cost of getting that done on unnecessary parts really easily!

Thanks for that Clinton. I just founf a Guy locally who says he can get into the system and reset old faults if necessary.
