My rear doors (double) wont open from the outside when I pull the handle, they do open from the inside manually. I have removed the fascia and can see what I believe is the problem, when you pull the handle the metal lever is not engaging with anything hence why the doors wont open, there appears to be a gap of around 1mm separating the two parts which I believe are key to opening the doors using the outer handle. Ive attached a photo, you will see the metal catch highlighted by the red arrow, this moves up when you engage the handle, it should then (i think) strike the plastic catch at the tip of the arrow - it doesnt.

Whats wrong?

You've not posted a pic, nor told us what car you have/are talking about. And the description it's self isn't very helpful

Sorry cant help without better info and description

Sorry about that, when your deep into a problem its easy to forget the detail. I cant post a pic unfortunately due to only just joining the forum, however I have uploaded to my garage profile. The car is a 2007 Doblo with the double doors for wheel chair access. Basically the handle when pulled doesn't engage a thing, I can see this with the door skin off, it looks like it should be engaging with a plastic lever but its missing it by about 2mm, if my pic cant be found I would be really grateful if someone else can upload this for me?

I have the same problem also on mine the central lockin plunger aint conected to anything

i get this problem about 3 times a year on my 07 plate doblo, the plunger not conecting with anything is not the problem,i once had a mechanic tell me the mechanism was broken because the plunger wasn,t connecting with anything
but fixed the door 6 times since that,i think when the cover is replaced the plunger may be connecting then, with the cover removed i use wd40 on the spring you can see,i also put it on the rods and any surrounding moving parts, using a flathead screwdriver i carefully move the plastic part attached to one of the rods up and down,(this actually opens the door)i then put more wd40 on this part, twice i had to leave it for a few hours before it started working but most time its ok right away
