My new doblo appears to have damaged elements in the rear window, possibly from the last owner peeling off those annoying dealer stickers. Only 3 of the lines clear when turned on. Is this fixable? I can't see the dealer getting me a replacement window just for that.

I would say a new window. You think thats strange,I have two back windows with elements in both but no cables going to them or a switch to turn them on.The only thing I can figure out is that the originals where smashed and they where the only replacements at hand???

Somebody smashed your back doors in? :0
I was wondering if I could gently solder a fine wire or something. Maybe a liberal application of a HB pencil would be enough to get the electrons flowing? Probably not.

Ehow talks about filament repair liquid but can't find the stuff. What's the betting it's iron filings mixed with glue?

Ok just got one from scratch doctor for a tenner delivered. Will let you know if it works.

I have used this stuff several times over the years. It usually works fine.

One tip, don't be tempted to lay down 2 strips of masking tape alongside the bit you are repairing to try and get a straight line as it doesn't work because when you peel the tape off it makes tiny cracks in it again so it cannot make a circuit. Just carefully, and I do mean very carefully, paint it on the break freehand. I usually give it three coats. (y)

Worked a treat. Still got thin strips of masking tape on their as guides so will heed your advice and tease them off with a razor blade. The elements are actually very fragile and won't take much to damage. Perhaps a protective film.
