For a couple of months our 57 plate Family would report odd alarms on strart up (ABS Failure, Airbag failure etc) and then the fault would immediately clear again. I took the car to the main dealer before Christmas and they put it on their diagnostic machine and found no fault.

However, recently upgraded the radio and while fitting it with the doors wide open for a few hours and the interior light on, flattened the battery. This then led me to believe that the battery may be on its last legs and as it was the original fitment decided to replace it.

Now when the car starts I do not get any faults displayed.

This has come up on the forum before. In some cases the faults come back. Could be a corroded earth strap. The faults are nothing to worry about though. Just some minor electrical interference.

Sounds like youve solved it Maggie, and I bet the new battery has more vigour to it.

The original one was 50AH and the new one is 63AH. When I saw the new one I thought thats not going to fit as it was quite a bit bigger, but it sits in the battery box perfectly.

It turns over somewhat quicker now, so fingers crossed it looks that way.
