Any ideas why my boot door doesn't open any more with the central locking. I have to open/ lock it manually. Car 04 1.9JTD My last Doblo had same fault.

sounds like the mechanism has broken. Is it the tailgate or twin doors? If it is tailgate and still works with the key then it could be that a small plastic arm connected between the motor and the lock is snapped. Fiat will only sell a whole handle, make sure you specify central locking. I think it is around £90 then you need to fit it.

If you remove the plastic cover on the inside of the tailgate and look at it operate when you press the button on the key you should hear the motor turn and see some movement if that is the case.

This fault is common, best to search the forum for better instructions.

Ok. It can still be the same fault with the plastic piece. It commonly fails in ice if the lock is unwilling to open or if you lock the doors with one open.

On the twin doors there is a rod that can also fail.

Good luck!

Another common problem is the actuator is really weak & the grease used on the mechanism tends to gel up in the cold. A quick blast around the mechanism with a decent aerosol cleaner should help, along with a liberal squirt of a good lubricant. Alternatively, spend a while getting to the bits, take them off & clean them up & regrease with something more suited to lubing in the cold.
