Got pulled of the old bill last night in my Doblo taxi to tell me the back light cluster was behaving incorrectly.

Pressing the break is bringing the reversing light on and indication is bringing the break light on. The indicator panel light on the dashboard is also flashing and clicking very fast.

I have had a look this morning with the cover off and when the break pedal is pressed, two bulbs are lighting up, the same when the indicator is on. The bulbs look as though they are duller than normal.

Any suggestions would be appreciated so I can get back on the road.

I agree with dave, had this once on my old Mirafiori 131, what happens is because there is some resistance in the earth when a bulb lights the ground side is slightly above ground ie +12v one side and say +3v the other, its dim just about lights, the +3v is common with all the other bulbs so they potentially light as well as they have +3v one side and are normally grounded on the switch side when off, so +3v and 0v hence they light. If not in the connector look for where the ground cable goes and it'll probably be a rusty earth post somewhere.

Cheers fellas. Had a look at the connector that goes into the light cluster (for anyone else reading its the plastic connector with about 6 wires going into it) for of the actual connectors inside this had been bent flat so obviously making a poor connection. I bent it back up with a thin screwdriver and all works well.

Thanks again.
