MOT at Brindley Honda says both front top supension mounts starting to split and will need replacing before MOT next year. They then quoted me £199 per side. Local small independant garage will do both sides for £132. Are Brindly Honda extracting the urine or is the local guy doing a real cut-price job?

The Honda garage will most likely be charging full (or near to) list price for the parts, and probably more in labour. but you may we find your car has had a wash and smells nice in side afterwards.

Local guy should have OEM spec parts at a more sensible price, and his labour rates may be a lot less. not such a big shiny garage to look after?

I think I paid £45 for the top mount on a golf, and it only took about 45 minutes for it to get fitted, so £132 for local guy sounds about right to me. as long as he is still fitting good OEM parts.

It's usually best to use a smaller garage. And there is no real benefit from using a Honda garage for a Fiat.

Hi, just a quick note, pretty sure top mounts on these are handed (ie specific one for each side) if independent garage doing just let them know as tops look very similar, but holes offset position of strut and control camber/castor position. Thanks John
