my wifes 19 sxd running good but glow plug light is flashing changed glow plugs and found that after start up that glow plugs are still getting live voltage so i changed relay and still the same and glow plug light still flashing so wot i have done now have removed relay taped up live so no power at all to glow plugs and light still flashing but i need to get this sorted before really cold weather comes for cold starts the car is starting no problems at minute with out glow plugs.

i need some info asap to what to do and look for etc voltages when ignition on and off going to plugs and if there is a cold start sensor to look for that might cause problems .

The light is still flashing because there is an error (effectively no glow plugs at all)

the light still flashes with new plugs in they have been replaced i'm getin voltage still wen engine is running and if i keep the plug connectors on new glow plugs it will burn them out

There may have been nothing wrong with the Glow plug relay. Most glow plug systems since the mid 1990's stay on for up to 5 minutes after initial start up to clean up emissions and to assist with smooth running. The light on the dash goes out, but they remain glowing nicely for a while. Doesn't help with your problem much, but what you were seeing may have been normal.

I don't know specifically what the flashing light means on a Fiat (what does the manual say ?), but on other makes of vehicle the flashing light is indicating is that a Diagnostic Code has been recorded by the Power Control Module and that its there to tell the driver to consult their garage. It can mean a problem completely unrelated to the plugs.

It needs the fault codes reading.

12volts coming out of pins 3 and 5 of connecter and the 12volt live going to relay is ok,

another relay and problem sorted 12v to glow plugs switch off after 30 seconds
