My Doblo 1.3 diesel 2007 less than 20k miles is increasing the amount of oil in the engine (per the dipstick readings) - I changed the oil myself and was careful to refill the necessary amount so am at a loss to see the extra.

I suspect it must be to do with the dpf but can't quite get my head around why and what happens as well as what happens to the extra - any offers to help understand the situation please?

Thanks for the prompt - a lot of guessing going on I suspect on the part of some in that thread but one presumes they are trying to help.

I have had a mechanic friend rig up his mobile computer 'gizmo' to the ecu - no faults shown. No indication of any issues on the dash and the van drives as it always has. Oil and filter changed 2k ago - no change in driving style and it has never had a rising oil level over the last 3 years so somewhat baffled still.

I suspect it is DPF related - anyone know how to do a regen 'manually'?

I believe the facility is available in FiatECUScan although I haven't tried it as mine seems to perform a regen every 400-500 miles (tankful) anyway. I will have a look and see if the option is there next time I hook up.

PS - Mine is a 1.9 though so it may be worth checking if the same applies to yours via their forum

Oil degredation counter in ECU needs reset also software update might apply to your car.
