Hello all.

Not a newbie on here as such.. but a very infrequent visitor (as fortunately my Doblo has been an extremely smooth / reliable run from new).

Until, perhaps today! :(

Had the car serviced locally a week or so ago - no problems prior, during or after the service (MOT passed too). Vehicle is the 1.9 Diesel model, from around 2006 or so I think (sorry, no expert - at all).

Anyway, the guy at the garage said "It's running hunky dory" when he handed the keys back to me. "Great!" I thought. Perhaps we both spoke too soon though..

.. as today I've noticed (hopefully just from today) that there's an amber light on the dashboard (on all the time, either when key turned to just "MAR" or fully started engine).

Wasn't far from home when I noticed the light, so drove home to check the manual - and now ask on here about it.

Manual states: "Injection System Failure" - and then (in somewhat broken English..):

"Turning the key to MAR the warning light turns on but it should go off after engine starting [it doesn't..]"

"If the warning light stays on or turns on when travelling, means a fault in the supply/ignition system which could cause high emissions at the exhaust, possible lack of performance, poor handling and high consumption levels."

"In these conditions it is possible to continue driving without however requiring heavy effort or high speed from the engine. In any case, contact Fiat Dealership as soon as possible."

[end]

So...

Not entirely clear I would say. IS the vehicle *safe* to drive until I get it to the garage or dealership? (local [generic] garage is 1m away.. Dealership 10m away).

In terms of performance, I *had* noticed an apparent slump in performance POST having the service done (NOT at the dealership, but a reliable garage I've used with the same vehicle previously). However, done nothing about it as ONLY seemed apparent when *first* starting the vehicle (first time of the day) - sluggish performance when pulling away, and prone to stalling (didn't do this pre-Service..)

But pretty sure there was no amber light on (and have never seen it previously).

Car *seems* to drive fine (though I was being cautious for obvious reasons on short drive home) - but having turned ignition off, waited a while and back on - the amber light is still ON :(

I've searched the Doblo forum on this one and only a few previous instances came up - with no firm advice on what to do / not to do - hence posting this.

Anyone on here encountered these symptoms with their Doblo..?

Any advice would be great - as dealership and garage now not open until Monday. Having had the (previously fine) vehicle Serviced and MOT'd (pass) as recent as 10 days ago, I'm assuming I should take this up with the local garage first..? (not Fiat specialists but previously reliable etc.etc.)..

Cheers in advance for any pointers (and sorry for the epic - I'm a complete novice and don't know one end of a car from the other!)

what oil was put in it?

I've no idea I'm afraid.. :( - If the (previously reliable/professional) garage had / have put in the wrong sort could this have been a contributing factor/cause..?

*You've reminded me to update this thread anyway actually.

Problem has been fixed... but it's take £200 to get there. Local garage did a full inspection and found the fault to be with an/the "EGR Valve" (clogged/dirty/faulty).

Replaced it and hey presto - *seemingly* improved performance.. and the little amber light of "Grief" has gone out!

As I said before I don't know one end of a car from another (give or take!) - so have to trust their input, advice + price. Did some googling once I'd been advised what the problem was - and it certainly seems to be a likely cause / fits in with the symptoms (not just the amber light in question - drop in performance etc..)
