06 plate 1.9 jtd 41k on the clock
Around town I'm getting 45mpg and that is orange light to orange light with a fill of only 45.46litres (10 gallon) and that is also a blend of 9 gallons diesel plus 1 gallon veg oil (now the colder weather is here).

I have no idea where I got that figure from, I reckon I must have dreamt it or something as I'm just tickling up to the 36k mark

Since you have touched on a subject very close to my hart (MPG well i am a Yorkshire man after all :D) im just begining to wonder if iv dropped a clangger getting rid of my 06 reg 1.9 multijet van that used to do a genuine 56/57 mpg that was brim full to brim full, the computer used to say 62mpg, now i have a 1.3 multijet active estate 85 BHP and im struggling to get 50 but its only done 1000 mile and im living in hope it will get better but cant see it ever getting better than the old 1.9 :cry:P S if your ever in a trafic jam in yorkshire its usually me at the front :D

The 1.3 will take more welly to get it moving - and especially to keep it moving up the hills (I come from Halifax). The 1.9 coupled with a turbo would struggle far less.

Damn thing is still working, what am I doing wrong?

Two years of ownership, an additional 40k put on her including two trips across France and she just sailed through another MOT with only an advisory on brake discs. The dodgy maths computer is showing 60.1 mpg average for the last 1800 miles.

Our Multipla just got hit up the rear and now we're thinking of replacing it with a Doblo Family. Wanted a 1.9 JTD but there aren't many good ones for sale. There are lots of 1.3 / 1.4 diesel Doblos but aren't these a little underpowered under load? 7 seats and all. How do the 1.4s manage overtaking on motorways or up steep hills?

we do regular trips 5 up with full luggage and bike rack, 60-65 is the max reasonable cruising speed with a little left for overtaking. It does struggle on hills when loaded though, but with fuel the price it is we are happy to drive gently.

We've just bought a new berlingo xtr as the main car, so hope to give the dobbie a rest and keep her going for a good few years yet.
