hi all,iv got 1.9 jtd elx and im loosing steering fluid, about a t-spoon every 24hrs,where do i find the pump and is it easy to replace? any help greatly appreciated, thanks in advance

im not entirely sure to be honest,it may be that a pipe has sprung a leak but im unable to figure out where the thing is! have to add that im not much of a mechanic but there is a lot of fluid around the drivers side front wheel, underneath. :)

Hi,
I have sort of the same, but minor oil loss. The problem I have, is that the hydraulic cilinder at the right is leaking. The hydraulic cilinder is coverd with a sleeve. Only thing I can do, is replacement. It,s about € 900,00. here in Holland.

You could put some of the oil on a piece of paper to see what colour it is (brake fluid and powersteering fluids are usually different colours). If it is a leak from the powersteering circuit you need to see where it is coming from. It might be a leak from one of the pipes and not the pump. On the wife's car (a citroen picasso) we have already had two leaks of powersteering fluid - each time coming from the ends of the pipes. This was fixed by changing the clamp - cost 1euro - and an easy DIY job!
