Hi guys, Just done the cambelt & tensioners on my 2003 1.9JTD, no problem but did have some vibration on tickover prior to renewing the belt and was hoping this would cure it, but have now discovered a lot of end play on the power steering pump pulley meaning it moves in and out when rotating and appears to be the cause of the vibration. My 'man' who fitted the belt can't see an obvious way of removing the pump apart from removing the alternator and possibly the drive shaft? Are we missing something, has anybody on here replaced a pump? Thanks in advance

any jobs going at the Fiat garage in parma?

you can remove pump by taking of crank pulley, tensioner, fuel filter, egr valve, fuel return manifold and alternator top mount.....might be few other small bits and pieces but thats general method.

Thanks for the reply. I'm assuming you're a Fiat technician and obviously know your stuff but I'm now completely confused (not difficult) if I've even identified the right part!!. The pulley in question is near to the rear of the engine on the left when looking from the front of the car and the fuel filter is on the opposite side of the engine bay so why would that have to be removed? If you slacken off the tensioner to remove the drive belt why does the crank pulley have to come off. It is a LHD so does that make any difference? Sorry to be so thick.
