Technical Doblo rear door mechanism

Thanks for the info- same problem rear door not openning not only seized but the rod had come off ! I would never have fixed it myself THANKS..
The little metal clip on the inner handle is a bit sneaky.

Hi any advice on how to remove the pin that holds the door handle to the body .

The fin that locks the Handel has broken off needs replacing.
Consequence of the person borrowing my tools with out asking:cry:

Had recurving problems with rear door mechanism, the outer handle on both ours were fixed with snap bolts, a real pain, water gets in to the internal mechanism especially if power washed.
Had lower catch break on both vans as well wires are warning light.
The lock mechanism is a CHEAP bit of junk with numerous bent bits of tin & springs that rust, had them out striped & cleaned re fitted with those nasty clips & cycle spoke rods.
Greased with thin silicon grease, not oil seems to be holding it's own as we speak, did the same with the 05 one we had, shame Fiat don't read this forum, or they would have sorted a number of problems eg. rear springs, light switches, spring assister's, (Bump stops to a lot of people) Wiper mechanism.
Central locking works but only on key now pinger ok it is in the electrics
Don't know what the new Doblo is like but will never find out as the new vans are not Doblo:bang:
We got fed up with the same old same old

Couldn't agree more. Fiat should employ someone just to scour all the blogs and reviews, and act accordingly.

I have the new Doblo. It's better at speed, but there are annoying traits, like when somebody opens a door on arrival and the dash says 'door open'. I say shut up dash - I need to know my mileage - go away! Same at the end of a journey after reversing into place when it says 'S&S disconnected'. Go away -shut up - I need to know my mileage - now! :(

The internal door handles aren't all that convenient, and the door storage is not well considered either.

And other things like this... Bluetooth's nice though.

Not loving the gearbox and clutch action either...

Sorted drilled it out.

Another stupid idea why have a snap off head on inside of door, if it was accessible from outside OK but you are already inside when you get to the head.
The wire clip for the inside door handle is as old as the hills, push in the trim panel with a bit of welding wire bent into a short hook pull it off being careful not to loose it

well in almost 2 years & 33k miles of ownership something has finally broken! Yep, you guesses, the rear doors!

I've not had problem with them at all up until today. The annoying thing is I was thinking of getting a bigger van for work but because my Doblo has been so good I was really unsure about getting a different van,

So today i went to open the rear double doors & the outer handle didn't work so i had to get in through 1 of the side doors. The nearside rear door opened from the inside straight away. I then went to open the offside but when i moved the handle there was a bit of resistance then it just went slack & won't work at all so can't open it!

Can't believe both doors have messed up at the same time! Was a bit busy with work today so haven't had chance to look at it but working at home tomorrow so going to be 1 of my priority things to do! :D

sorted! took the nearside rear door handle/lock mechanism apart this aft, cleaned it up then lubed it & put it all back together which did the trick.

The offside rear door handle had somehow had both rods disconnect from it so just clipped them back in.

So everything is backed to fully working condition now! (y)

Hi. First post and would like some help please.
I've been having the same problem as others, rear door wont lock, the key turns in lock but nothing. Have had a look and freed up the pin, rods all fine, can see how it all works etc, but turning the key does nothing! I can see what should turn (the plastic bit should turn 90 degrees ish, prev posts) to push the pin (that sticks, prev posts) but it doesn't. Tryed the 3mm allen key bolt loose and tight......so is it the barrel that's gone? 55 plate doblo jtd 1.9. Can't seem to see any other posts with this problem of the actual plastic pin pusher not turning..

Thanx for any help..love my doblo.

Am I alone. Having a lift up boot door that is refusing to open ? Seems to be a common problem with the double back doors .
If anyone knows of a previous post and advice on how to repair this please could they point me in the right direction.:)

Yes that's the one normally great if it's raining BUT not if you can't open it:eek:

Our near side rear door handle been yanked the wrong way or too hard by someone, taken plastic panel off and both rods have come out. They look easy to push back in but ping straight off when you move the handle. . Wondering if the plastic part that the rod threads through is worn or is there something missing that fixes them on to the door handle. Also struggling to work out what position the rods should be in e.g short rod in front hole of handle in closed position as they're both pinging off as soon as you move the handle. Sorry for garbled post

Hi

Recently, my rear doors (twin, swinging) don't open from the outside. Unfortunately, I don't have side doors and there's a steel bulkhead behind the driver's seat. Result: I can't get into the rear of the van!
Plan 'A': Been fiddling with the central locking/read door key for over a week to no avail.(the central locking produces a reassuring noise in the rear locking mechanism)
Plan 'B': There are removable plastic corners to the steel bulkhead. I've been trying to hook and grab the inside door handle with a long pipe and piece of wire from the cab, without success.
Does anyone have a plan 'C' for me please? (the whole point of a van is to be able to carry stuff in the back!)

I have the same - lift up tailgate on a 2010 Dobbie. Pressing the open button on the tailgate, you can hear it trying to open the mechanism, but it doesn't quite manage it. Can try like a dozen times, but then it times out and stops altogether (think this is a software thing). Sometimes it does open, but very rarely. Pop a Bic pen into the hole on the inside plastic trim and the gate easily pops open. Tried lubing it all, no joy. Just about to go and have another bash at it - would love to hear of any fixes from others?

Cheers,

Jono

I know this is an old topic. But again I'm having something similar. I turn the key to lock the car and it opens right away. On the dash it say boot open.warning.
I toke out the panel. To find the motor and when I turn the key the motor works it opens but closes right away. Any one have any Pointers. As I cannot lock my car right now and it's a night mare

Can you disconnect the loom to that lock??

Or unbolt part of the mechanism..?

If locks cycling it is a door not shut mechanism seized\tight , the mechanism is a pain, oil dries up springs not strong enough to overcome friction, the plastic \metal clips hat fit the rods wear\ break, don't see what is to break in barrel did have same sort of problem but cant remember what it was most things wash the old grease out put in new cures with 1 or 2 exceptions

Ok the latch when I lift up the bonnet is new one on the door itself As I thought it was that the lock. But it would make sense it's not connecting to the receiver. But solid no cables. So I don't know if it's possible. The handle off the door I'm guessing key won't turn it for some reason on the outside of the car would that be an issue
