I have a fiat Doblo van and have just had an alarm fitted. The alarm keeps going off for no apparent reason and the alarm is reports front door access. The issue is that I had noticed previously to having the alarm fitted, that the front interior light comes on and off intermittently when parked. I have sat a camcorder in the van looking at the light and this is coming on just before the alarm triggers.

My question is what could be causing this? My initial thought would be faulty contacts but then when driving the door open light would keep flashing. As the light stays on for a while after the door is closed, I assume that the some kind of computer is controlling this? the second part of the question would be where is this and can it be easily replaced and what do I ask for?

I reckon the front door interior light is separate to the rear door open warning light.
I would start off checking the light switches in the front door jam, take then out, clean them up etc.

I have the same problem on my 97 a doblo the interior light seems to come on when it's parked up seen it the other nite it was on went to get the keys by the time I got back it had gone out .guy next door said he saw it on when he came home one night it seems to have a mind of its own
