I am able to select all gears except fourth. I am wondering if this has happened to anyone else and if anyone has an idea of how to fix it.

Cheers

Strange just like mine 1001k miles just stooped selecting 4th gear all others no problem, 3rd like a dream changes from 5 to 3 to 5th ok, no syncro problems, it just wont select 4th, seems either like selector or detent fault, no noise just appears if it is blanked off, linkage seems ok.
Never another Fix It Again Tony with all the other problems it is to expensive to run so far it has cost me a third more than the Berlingo it replaced, for the same mileage.

i have a 2008 doblo 51000 miles and have problems with gearbox as well.have changed the clutch and slave cylinder. But gear still crunches going into reverse the only thing i can do just now is put it in first to slow the gearbox down then into reverse.works fine .not happy and phoning for the 3rd time the fiat dealer to get this problem fixed.the dont seem interested at all. The clutch i took out still had a little meat on it.but had no choice to replace once out.the fiat garage better take notice this time or i will be very upset lol.

I thought one of the dealer people would have replied by now, still doubt if there is much hope of me buying another Fiat, the only things going for it are MPG & torque, 2 side doors, and solid bulkhead, against are poor ride, eats tyres (don't do motorways all A & B roads) wipers, turbo pipe,(verrrry expensive) clutch & flywheel, breaks & discs, (ready for another set of discs), 2 lower wishbones, door latches x3 plastic!! bits, corroded water pipe, thermostat assy, (very costly) complete exhaust (rotted off at welds on both boxes) now using water again, seat lumbar adjuster broken, & now the gear problem.
Not to mention the non cancelling \ with the inaudible tick indicators.
The last 2 vans I have owned a Transit did over 300,000 miles with a valve job, 2 front wheel bearings, + a diff bearing at around 200,000 the Berlingo did well over the 100.000 miles with routine services and an exhaust.
It was not the best on tyres but still managed 4\5 thousand more per set than the Doblo.
If only they put a b it more quality into the vehicle it would be a world beater, but do I want try try the latest version I would take a lot of convincing & a real long warranty.
Why don't they make the new one with a 1.9 would change like a shot.
