Well, the new car has coils at the back and a longer wheelbase; doing without the long leaf springs makes this possible. As to the rest, as far as I can see it looks like a serious revision of the present model, although with completely different bodywork.
I doubt the gear lever will move, and the indicator problem seems to be a universal Fiat gripe, and I assume the same mechanism will be carried over. Louder would be good, as would more storage, and a more secure spare wheel
And, after 65 thou my dipper switch is now very occasionally taking on a life of its own too.
So I agree. Not sure about the gear lever though, unless you mean the intrusion of the plastic surround, which I agree is a bit too wide.
But at least it looks to be no bigger than the current model. The Berlingo doesn't seem to be selling as well as it did, and I wonder if it isn't down to it being just that bit too long and wide, and now too expensive.
But what of the Qubo? That needs more storage, a lower price and better engines NOW as well. It's a good car let down by unfinished development.
Next year should get it all sorted - I hope - but unless it is very much better, and substantially more economical, I'll keep the old bus.
