hi folks, anyone had a problem with their aerial snapping off? Have recently had a few things tied on the roof bars so no doubt its that that's caused it. Advice please on how to change it, i.e. do you have to change all the coax or does the coax plug into the base under the roof? any links to spare parts sites would be appreciated as well. thanks, jeff

Sorry to drag up an old thread but I found a replacement genuine fiat part on ebay, base, everything for £20.

Trouble is whats left of the existing one is screwed on so tightly I can't take it off. My question, can I just unscrew the base from the outside and put the new one back in or do I have to start dismantling the lining because something will drop down.

You need to dismantle from inside. On my van I removed the shelf above the windscreen (not sure if they all have these) and could then release the clips at the front to drop the headlining just enough to get at the aerial from inside.

Swapping the aerial is the quick bit, it took me longer to put all the trim back afterwards!

Hope this helps.

thanks I'll have another go at trying to remove the broken bit before I go through all that

How did that work out for you? I have the same problem after I tried to unscrew the aerial before using an automatic car wash, but it broke off at the base instead.
