Hi all,
I have a current shape Doblo and I am finding that when I open the rear doors, I get a faint white scratch on the side bodywork (below the fuel cap and corresponding passenger side). This happens each time the doors are opened and gets worse if parked at an angle i.e the higher level door pressing on the bodywork more due to its weight causing a deeper scratch.

It seems that the doors are too close to the body of the vehicle when opened and so scrape.

Does anybody have a fix for this or can recommend adjustments to the sliding gear etc that me local dealer is unable to find!!! If possible, could someone provide a part of the workshop manual and or photos of how it should really look (i.e the size of the gap between door and body when doors fully opened) this would help a great deal.

Many thanks:)

Hi,
I have exactly the same problem, a white mark just below the fuel filler. I've looked at the door and it seems to be clearing the body so I thought it might be because someone had left something in the door pocket that had rubbed the body.

Can you definitely see the door rubbing the side of the car because it seems to clear it ok on mine?

I don't know of a fix for this so I would be interested to know if anyone else has the same problem and has sorted it.

Interesting. I thought mine were OK but having just checked, both rear doors, the grey plastic door panel 'just' skims the plastic lip that sticks out on the wheel arch/bumper, so leaving slight markings on the very edge of the plastic arch.

That's not the greatest of designs is it?

Thanks for the reply,
Yes, I can see the grey plastic trim just touching the bodywork. I can see some slight white powdery marks on the trim - some of the paint lacquer I think. My local dealer states that they cannot see any adjustment being possible (although I suspect they weren't trying too hard to find out hence my request to real Doblo experts here).

Surely, each vehicle will need some adjustments before leaving the factory (Doblo's are not exactly known for their high precision manufacturing and body panel tolerances are they?).

I hope someone has a solution for this as my Doblo is a dark colour and I don't really want to see the primer coat.

Regards.

I only noticed the problem after Dakar warned about the dangers of leaving objects protruding from the door pocket.

Here's the thread

Someone had left a cup in their door pocket and it had actually scratched the body. After reading that I checked mine and noticed a white mark and presumed the same thing must have happened, but it could be just down to poor build quality.
