i have an 02 doblo elx jtd 1.9. the problem i have is when im accelerating on a motorway the front end wobbles when i hit 40mph. it stops at 60,ph. ive had the balancing and tracking done and cv joints and bottom arms etc checked and all fine. any ideas as this is really peeing me off.

is the vibration felt through the steering wheel predominately or rest of the car.

i've had numerous issues with various vehicles over the years ( not my doblo) and even when the wheels have been so called balanced there still as bad, take to a different garage ask for a "fine" wheel balance check for deformaties on the tyre and wheel First!!

Second! driveshafts would be my first port of call very hard to detect slight wear by the mechanic giving them a gentle fettling, but once worn first signs will be vibration when accelerating then a knocking on full lock then all the time.

As you pass through the vibration at higher speeds its the inbalance in the drivetrain that causes the wobble you would probably pick it up again when doing 80+

hope this helps:)

Had a similar problem on my Volvo. Even though everything checked out OK including wheel balance more than once, the problem only disappeared when I bought new tyres.

Try swapping the wheels front to back to see if it makes a difference.

i had same prob but found it to be at the rear mine was rear antiroll bushes, but yea it felt like the front, garage couldnt find it i did in the end hope it helps

Check the bearing cup on your drive shafts. Passenger side is good one to start with. My cargo developed the same problem. Seems like steering when actually it was the bearing cup that had worn on the shaft causing the shaft to run out of true..

Not bad though after 206,000 miles!!!!! :)

I am experiencing same wheel wobble on acceleration and between 40 & 50 mph. I have just brought my doblo and was wondering what it was.... there is an advisory on mot to say both rear anti-roll bar linkage has slight play in joint could this be my problem ? Also feels like doblo is sliding a bit on cornering.

I had the vibration at that speed on my previous Doblo for the 4 and a half years I owned it. Passed all MOTs and never got worse. What Doblo did you get?

It might be a drive shaft but my bet is either a badly seated tyre, an out of shape tyre or some bushes.

You can test if its a drive shaft by finding an empty car park, turning the steering hard to the stop and driving round in tight circles. do it to the left and then to the right. If you hear a bonk, bonk, bonk noise while driving in the tight circle then it is likely a driveshaft.

I have the 19 jtd doblo. I can feel wobble through steering too. Waiting for it to go garage to have drive shafts replaced to see if it is that .

Mine developed a wobble. There was also torque steer and it pulled to one side when I put my foot down. I actually had to fight to stay in control and it got dangerous.

It was the front bushes. They changed the wishbones as they told me the bushes are difficult to remove independently and the price difference would have been minimal, or probably nothing at all.

It's perfect now.
