can anyone please tell how to get at the rear light bulb on my doblo,I have taken off all screws/bolts but still cant get the panel off to get at the bulb  is there some sort of clip or something or something inside, even when I took it to halfords they could not get to the bulb,I dont want to take it to fiat dealers, you know what they charge. :bang:

Well firstly Fiat wont charge you anything as they dont change bulbs.

Dealerships will however charge you but this could be because they are a business and not a charity & like everything in life you have to pay!

However.........since you obviously havent looked/searched through the doblo section where it is clearly detailed.........you have to pull foward the rear speaker cover to reveal another large retaining bolt like the other one,

i removed my rear light cluster off my 1.9 jtd recently and found the same problem. after taking the screws out it still was solid. there are 2 more bolts inside the car behind the cluster but from memory you cant see them until you remove the plastic speaker housing assembley (the side shelf that the parcel shelf slots in ) cant remeber if i took all of it off or just popped the speaker grill off, try the grill first if not the lot will have to come off which in itself can be a pain because there is a bolt hidden behind a rubber grommit , think its a hex type (allen key) but because its about 3 inches inside the hole i needed a socket set with a hex on the end to remove it, sorry cant be more specific than that but have since removed both left and right panels and made custom made baffles for my subwoofers!

I am new to this forum so was not aware that there was a specific section on doblos thanks for your reply I will try again tomorrow (y)

lets be honest its a daft design, bulbs should be dead easy to replace, there always blowing, and its not just the doblo which overall is a fantastic car , loads of modern cars are like this, my mate just paid over £100 to have a bmw headlamp bulb replaced at the main dealer, now thats just obscene.

true but thats the 'nature of the beast' so to speak, the public want so much extras (and style) on their car that it all too often makes working on them impossible. Believe me I hate telling a customer it will cost even £20 to change a bulb but thats the way it is however the doblo design is stupid so Fiat if your are watching (and I know you are;)) sort it out(y)

fiatfred did you read the guide?????

thanks moderator I found the bulb change section with speaker removal photo stages of the procedure, that is a great help I will try again tomorrow and let you all know how I got on.

The parts department at my local suggest stuffing some foam into the bodywork under where the nut is removed. Losing the nut into the nether regions of the bodywork is common to more than just Doblos.

Wouldn't it make more sense for Fiat to adapt the design?
Just need a long bolt out of the back of the light cluster, a hole just big enough for the bolt to pass through & a normal nut & washer onto the bolt so that if you do drop something, it rests on the plastic shelf by the speaker.

Or is that too simplistic?
