Exclamation Head lights switching off

Has anyone had a problem with their dipped beam going off momentarily when switching to high beam?
It's done it to me a few times, only for a split second but it's enough to give me a fright when driving on a pitch black country lane.
Could it be the switch on its way out or something else?

Re: Head lights switching off

I'd guess a bad connection inside the stalk

Re: Head lights switching off

Hi,
I had this problem in my Doblo, where the main beam went out on switching from low-beam.
A replacement column indicator switch, (stalk), cured the problem.
My main agent told me it was a common wear problem.

Re: Head lights switching off

If you want to pm me either your reg or chassis matey I'll provide you the correct part number! There are many options on these and I assume yours does have rear wash wipe + drivers air bag?

Re: Head lights switching off

This has happened on mine since I've had it.(except for about 4 weeks around MOT time) I find that instead of just pushing the stalk back to go to main beam, if I also push slightly down (about 20 degrees) then it works OK. However I've never been able to use the flasher properly. Please let us know how you get on.

Re: Head lights switching off

Without the vehicle details I'd imagine the one Richdoblo requires is part no 735416662 which has a retail price of £86.94+ vat.

(Rich be aware thats just an educated guess at the one you will need)

I'm hoping they'll change it under warranty as it's still just under 2 years old.
