Ermmm, that is probably the case for most forums - people only tend to post when they have problems....

Paul,

its a pity you're still having a bad time with your doblo:

I as many have had nothing but praise for mine its the same year as yours etc ( albeit its a cargo) but if you think the fiat forum is bad for faults you want to go on a renault one.

There are loads of forums wether VW, audi, ford , alfa, etc all look and sound the same, people in general posting threads on faults with there vehicles.

The doblos pretty good really by comparison.

Have you thought about an aftermarket warranty to cover the problems!!

Re: have you noticed

If I was any manufacturer I'd employ people to cruise the net and log criticisms of the cars, and then feed these into the design and manufacturing departments. Does anyone know if this is industry practice?

The Doblo is fundamentally good, but the same faults do seem to reoccur, and some of them are expensive.

Its a warranty similar to a new manufacturer warranty that covers against mechanical and electrical failure.

Its a bit of A MINEFIELD as some are worthless in real terms but the best seem to be

Warranty direct , or warrantywise check them out on there websites and get a quote. read all the fine print and triple check whats covered.

If you are stuck with this vehicle it might pay to get some cover costs may be between £ 250 - 400. 12 months approx

Glad for you

but lets not make out that renault are in toyota or hondas league any more than fiat are for reliability, I have a laguna 2.2 dci and had a raft of trouble, as has my father with his 1.9 dci megane.

kangoo like the doblo is a simple vehicle which generally seem pretty reliable.

You're probably not going to go on a forum and say 'I haven't had any problems with my car today'.

i havnt had any problems with my car today ....

because its still in the garage

fiat just phoned me and they hooked the doblo up to the computer and it came back clean even though it sounds like the engine has got a cat stuck in it and the engine warning lite is on . so they said they are gonna completly strip the car down to find the problem if they dont find it i get a new car / engine

Are you sure? that sounds a bit generous for Fiat. I thought you said the warranty had expired

Re: have you noticed

Well we never had a problem at all till our doblo had its first MOT and service 3 weeks ago. Now with a bill for £241.70 for that and then a further bill for £230 for a new starter motor [the garage that did the service damaged the starter somehow] we are never using the local garage again.[It was done as the wife didn't want to have to go back to Arnold Clark as she's had trouble with them in the past]

Interestingly, heard something on the radio the other day - huge percentage of cars in UK are failing their first MOT
Apparently, our fail rate is higher than any other country (I think that's the way I heard it).
Seems to me that car manufacturers send us all their Friday afternoon cars knowing full well that we'll have no choice but to live with the carp they send out. Other countries (where lawyers offer their services to the underdog for nothing) simply wouldn't accept it.
