you'll have to take it to a dealer and get them to plug it into their computer to find out what the fault is.
I've got an 06 family that I bought new and the eng man light has come on a couple of times, it turned out to be nothing but you've got to get it looked at.

cheers for the info

you are the doblo king ...:slayer:

just thought, if it's an 06 reg, isn't it still under Fiat warranty?
its done 74,000 miles i was told that the warranty runs out at 60,000

oh im about to go get the timing belt changed do you have any idea of the general cost as i dont want to get ripped off ?

Now here's a thing. I was under the impression that I had 3yr warranty.
Booked my dobbie in to a Fiat mech in Dunstable (stormont) and they tell me it only has 2 yrs, I said "I thought it had 3", she went away & came back with "nope, only 2"
Found some scraps of paper in the car wallet & the 3rd year is a dealer warranty - which, if my problems with the tailgate struts are anything to go by, the dealer just wants to wash their hands of any responsibility.

This is one of Fiat's techniques to try and ensure they have as few repeat buyers as possible.

The Japanese and Koreans on the other hand like it when punters come back and buy from them again.

So was does this "dealer warranty" mean then?
Surely if you go to a Fiat dealer, they have to honour the warranty, otherwise what's the point?

The final year dealer warranty doesn't cover all the parts that the Fiat warranty does.

There may be a list of those parts not covered - I was told trim, door handles etc., 'small things', but I don't have the exhaustive list of works not included, and struts might indeed be excluded; depends on the discretion of the dealer I suppose?

If the Bravo can have a proper five year warranty why not the rest of the range? To me it smacks of lack of faith in the product.

I hope not :(

maybe Fiat have been forced into giving 5 year warranties on their latest models to compete with the Japanese and Koreans, although most of their range, including the Doblo, still doesn't have it (n).

The length of a fiat warranty is irrelevant to me..... in my experience they use weasel words to get out of their responsibilities when ever they feel like it.

Nah! Vauxhall reliability is crap according to Which? If you want a reliable car your best chance of getting one is to buy Japanese according to the surveys.

Got to agree with you on that one.
Mazda pickup, not serviced for years, half the HT system missing (no centre contact in dist. cap, other contacts severely welded up with all the arcing, points badly pitted, contacts in plugs in bad shape, most of the oilways blocked (through never having an oil change) and yet it fired first time, every time.
Honds Civic, had it 9 years. Same battery all the way, only replaced 2 sections of exhaust, only other cost was fresh oil, filter, air filter & a couple of tyres.

I seriously considered a Zafira. They're about the same price as a Doblo, maybe a bit more, but only if you go for the basic petrol model. I was put off after we hired one for a weekend and realised how small they are. The rear seats are only suitable for very small children so a large family would out grow the car in no time, and the boot is tiny. I know there's not much room in the boot of the 7 seat Doblo but the Zafira is ridiculous.
I would be tempted by a Zafira VXR (quickest 7 seater ) but they're not cheap.

edit;
oh and the base models, even the Diesels, are totally gutless.
I tried the 16v diesel and it struggled on the slightest hill. I was tempted to check under the bonnet to make sure there wasn't a BSA Bantam engine in there.
