Hi,

I have a 5 seater 2001 Doblo and the brake lights will not work at all, I dont really know where the fuse for the brake lights is as I have no manual, and I doubt it's all three bulbs, although that could be a posibility I suppose. If anyone could tell me where the fuse is, or if the problem could be caused by something else? I would be very greatful.

Thankyou! (y)

I have just had a friend look at my car, fuses all ok and so are bulbs so he said the same thing about the switch. It clicks but i dont know what its supposed to looklike or do. the thing is i'm supposed to be going away tommo afternoon so are theses things easy to get hold of and fit etc?
thanx

Well, just checked all of the fuses again but to no avail. I'm really lost for clues, and may just have to pay loads to get it fixed at a garage. Unless anyone has any other ideas? Cheers for the help so far everyone.

According to my handbook it is fuse no f37 10amp red in colour,
In the fusebox in car,2nd row from top, 3rd from left, it should be marked on the fuse carrier assy,
do not count the spare fuses on the first row on the lefthand side!,A
As previous post check the wires for tow hitch plug ( if fitted )for loose conections,
Sorry i haven't got a wiring diagram, someone here may have if you post HELP!!!

It's a simple electrical circuit. OK, so the wires vanish into a loom but with the aid of a simple test meter (even a bulb & two bits of wire) you should be able to trace the fault.
Generally speaking, power from battery to fuse, from fuse to switch, from switch to bulbs then connection to earth.
There should only be three possible breaks in the cable - fuse, switch & bulb, the bulb lighting is dependant upon each of these items working.

All the rear lights use a common earth connector so if other lights are working you can rule that out, but still worth checking the connections in the holder and the spade connection to the cluster.
Have you put a meter on the fuse, switch or cable to check for power?
Have you had this car since new? if not, maybe a previous owner scotched in some additional lighting (or tow hitch) - you'd be surprised how many people simply cut wires then twist together with a bit of tape.
