please help just bought a doblo got it cheap and now i know why

when i got it home i noticed the maf was disconnected so i re connected it which made the van slower and more smokey

it is a 1.9jtd would not go over 50 uphill on the way home felt as if the turbo was dead but i dont think this would cause black smoke

you can drive the van slowly but it will not go over 3500 rpm and just smokes if you put your foot down

i have read some articles on the egr valve so i took that off it was dirty but not completely blocked and the pipe that allows the recirc was not getting hot at idle so i dont think this is stuck open the mechanism seemed fine inside

i also wondered if it was being starved of air so undone the air filter and still no change

when i got mine it smoked a lot just had a service an it cleared up try changeing the filter mate

Not really done much work on diesels but I'm sure I had one that smoked & I traced the problem to a holed hose letting extra air into the system. The hose had chafed on a piece of metal where there should have been a plastic support bar.

now sorted the black smoke cleaned egr and replaced maf but still as if no turbo coming in and will not rev over 2000

yes it needs pluggin in next but i am not getting engine manage light on at all

i thought it could be in limp mode is there a way to get it off limp without pluggin in ie reset via takin off battery

no whooshing sound, i have checked all pipes and visually inspected the intercooler, no splits or cracks that i can see so would seem to be in limp mode, can you explain what is examiner? i have a usb to obd cable for my golf anyone know if it could work on this

Examiner is Fiat's diagnostic machine, which can interact with all the computers inside the car which a fault code reader/generic diagnostic machine would not be able to. It can also get lots of data about the running of the car which may be able to help you find your problem.

First, tipe of engine, year of the car, does it have a DPF (FAP)???.
usualy when the DPF exceeds 200 % stock it can nopt be cleaned even with Examiner. Try to put on an examiner and see the presure in front of DPF, which has to not exceed 200mbar in acceleration in neutral. try it with an presure gauge in not an Exam. If it is more than 1000mBar, I'll provide you a method that can be succesfull (chance 50%) . If more than 1250 mbar look for a DPF ( at least 2000 Euro new). See also temperature sensor in DPF.
Meanwhile DON'T use the car.

Black smoke from exhaust could be a problem with the fuel injection system. See that all connections to the Magneti Marelli electrical control unit ECU which manages the fuel injection/ignition are all in place.
