Just looking at the many threads where people are doing their own bits and pieces & wondering if I should invest in a Haynes manual. I know there are sellers flogging a manual on CD so wondered if they are any good?
(bought one for my last car & the CD covered cars on the foreign market so was absolutely useless for UK models - wiring colours were different, didn't cover the auto box, plus a few other differences).
Wondering, if the CD is any good, could the Forum shop hold masters & send out copies?

I have one, not quite as good as a Haynes manual but it's saved my bum lots of times! Good detailed diagrams, biggest problem is that it can take a while to find what you are looking for.

Also, like a Haynes manual, it tells you to do things that you can avoid doing and still do the job with relative ease.

I bought mine from an eBay seller that's no longer a registered user. I believe it is a Fiat CD, it has the logos etc. and if it isn't it's very convincing.

He's building up quite a collection of saved bums now.....

Hi:mad:
Bought one - clutch cylinder went on Doblo, so went to CD - no information on clutch. Rest of CD appears OK, although pre-supposes mechanical knowledge. Buy at your peril.

PS:mad:
I recently had my clutch master cylinder actuating rod snap. Upon investigation, it was made of plastic, as was the whole cylinder. It appears that most manufacturers now make these items from plastic. Does anybody know a manufacturer who still makes them in metal?

How strange, I guess they don't give any info on it as, being all plastic construction, it isn't serviceable - slightest problem requires a new unit?

Does it show how to replace the clutch/pressure plate?

A bit like many modern things where it's often cheaper to drop in a new motherboard than mess around soldering in a new resistor?
Most 'new' starter motors, alternators etc are rebuilds, unless you go to a main dealer.

The reason they pre-suppose you have mechanical knowledge is they are a Fiat Manual for the workshops, not for customers. They aren't like haynes at all. There are also different versions and updates which if you dont have all the cds then there is a chance the bit you need is not on the cd. For doblo from memory there are 6 cds.
