my parents hav a doblo 1.9 2004 they only got it about a year ago but they have had to replace the radiator twice in 4 months the last time was in feb and now its still giving problems wud there be any other part needed to be changed as the thiefs that they keep brining the van to wont say a word cause they making money of em

Why does it need replacing? Is it leaking?

If the car is overheating, is the radiator even getting warm?

Mrs_G's Doblo Cargo suffered from overheating earlier this year. The radiator wasn't getting warm. The thermostat unit was replaced but the fault continued. It turned out that the radiator was clogged.

A new radiator was fitted and all was back to normal. I don't know why the radiator got clogged as the van is always serviced on time and the coolant replaced as per the book (unless the fiat dealer didn't actually do it - perish the thought!).

In future we will be changing the coolant at least once a year - much cheaper than a new rad.

ya its leaking coolant or something inside!!
first they brought it to the dealer they said they changed it but another person said they didnt change it they put rad fix on it but they brought to some other guy who said that it was clogged with dried up leaves was he taking the mic?:nutter:

Hello, well if your losing coolant eventually your vehicle will overheat check all the hoses for leaks . If the radiator has been replaced with a new one i doubt it would be leaking there a repair job unless done professionally isnt advisable. Overheating will be caused because there is insufficient coolant circulating around your engine eventually the coolant just gets hotter and hotter and has to escape somehow usually through the expansion tank. We could do with a bit more info really is there any creamy gunk in the oil cap , or steam coming out of the exhaust . You can have a pressure test on the cooling system via the expansion tank. The system is pressurized and left for 10 mins if there is a leak it will be detected by careful inspection.Try a diffrent garage sounds like the one your using is after your money.
