| Just visited a dealer to see about part chopping my Croma, Glasses Guide recommends £5,500 plus I have the connect nav unit so I thought £6,000 was reasonable. The cheeky git offered me £4,500 what are these cars 21st century Lardas or something.

| Re: Are Dealers Real People? Well for a unit that costs £1500 as an optional extra I thought this was fair however I'm quiet happy to rip the whole unit out and put in the bog standard fiat unit. I'm sure I'd get £500 or close to it f I sold it separately. Of course if you only want to spend £50 then you get yourself a used Navman. If anyone does think this cars or any other Croma like it isn't worth £6K with the mileage. Then I'd like to know what their driving and what they paid for it, jalopy drivers need not respond, they'd put the car back on the forecourt for at least £8K. You could also say that diesels are not worth the extra in comparison to a petrol equivalent but I bet all greedy dealers are still selling them at premium. T14086 I'll take you up on your offer if your serious call me in 2010 when I've clocked up another 20,000. It incenses me I was offered £1450 recently for a fully loaded Stilo Abarth I managed to get £2k and got rid of the dam thing still with 12 months extended warranty. PS for a big car I get 600 plus miles on a full tank I don't consider that bad going.

| Re: Are Dealers Real People? Seems to have retained the legacy of the old Croma which, apparently, was the second highest depreciating car ever sold in the UK. (Probably why I kept my old Croma for so long). The top spot went to the Rover SDI. Dave.

| Re: Are Dealers Real People? No they are not. They offered me £3000 for my old 04 plate multipla against a 2006/06 Diesel Croma for which they wanted £7495. I sold it on Autotrader for £4500.00. Luckily for me I went to a trade only auction in Manchester with our kid, and bought a 2005/55 Croma for £4300.00 with 40k on the clock.

| Re: Are Dealers Real People? It's not just a sat nav though it's the steering wheel it the housing, connectors, mikes job lot. Of course you can nip down to Tesco and get a Tom Tom 900 for £300 if you prefer and yes I presume the buyer would have a Croma and likes the unit but didn't want to cough up dealer prices . Such a buyer I'm sure would consider the unit a bargain, but not if he was in the market to spend £500 on a car. I used to have a shop a few years back and sold my dvds for around £20 you'd always get the what I can get 3 for a £10 down the car boot brigade well my answer to that was well off you go then.

| 5vp3r m0d | Re: Are Dealers Real People? Don't preach to me, lol - I have had 2 cars with Connect Nav+ in - a fully loaded Ulysse, bought from new - and also a Stilo Abarth selespeed, bought second hand... And there are a few people on here who have attempted to retrofit the unit into a Stilo [there is even a full guide on here, including all the extras you need to source, some from Alfa]. I think all we are saying is that £500 is a lot to ask for a unit, with a very small audience. Oh, and I currently run a Garmin 200W, and it knocks the spots of the CN+ imo

| Re: Are Dealers Real People? whoa there tony the tiger, you seem a bit pissed off with answers given to you OK you don't like but that doesn't mean that your all correct & everyone else is wrong you have to take into account a buyers market & the so called recession at the moment at the end of the day like it or not, not everyone has the same idea as yourself... i sold wee car different thing altogether but got far less than i original thought i,d get. its a buyers market remember, that simple ,but hard to swallow i talk from experience

| Re: Are Dealers Real People? Not pissed or preaching simply saying given the cost of the kit one would have to pay to have this fitted to a new car what I was asking wasn't unreasonable. After all I'm sure the dealer would bump the price up a few hundred simply because the kits there. It's actually fitted with a serial code which is unique to the car never mind the model so it would be pretty useless in another vehicle unless Fiat were prepared to change the code. Point is I think the unit is worth £500 on the used market whether someone's prepared to pay it or attempt to fit it is their choice. Of course the last two posters have valid points and unfortunately the residue value of Fiat is pretty poor any how so I only have myself to blame for buying the car from a Fiat dealer and paying top dollar. By the way Jimboy that's a lions roar you should spend more time in the jungle.
