I purchased a Spanish registered 2.4 diesel Croma Eleganza with a few faults which seem to be vacuum related. I want to replace all the rubber vacuum pipes but am unsure of the ID sizes. I have already found the lack of turbo power was caused by a 3.5mm hose rubbing through on the chassis as spotted by other members. The EGR unit has long hoses to the pressure sensor under the car which are suspect but seem to be different sizes. The fault code for poor flow through the EGR valve returns from time to time even though the Valve is clean and the solenoid works correctly Hence thinking about vacuum leaks. Does anyone know the pipe sizes. Great car though now it goes up Spanish motorway hills faster than the trucks!!

Never had to replace any on my Croma so no idea on sizes. When I've replaced vacuum lines on other cars I've used polyurethane airline and associated push-in fittings. They are normally used on indusrial machinery Available in a range of sizes, metric and imperial. You can even get bright colours if you like that sort of thing. search for Pneumatic Tubing or airline.

Hi Thanks for that. What is your connection to Thrust SSC? I finished my contract with its successor BLOODHOUND SSC last June.

Hi,
I was a team member. Mostly electronics. I did the cockpit instruments including making the Machmeter and airspeed indicator, engine electrics, a lot of the data monitoring, pyrotechnic firing circuits etc. I was on one of the start/turnround teams, looked after the turbine air starters etc. I found the problem with the onboard computers that was causing high speed aborts. Went to Jordan twice and Blackrock of course. What were you doing on Bloodhound? I had a little input to it in the early day but no real involvement.
I've just booked my tickets for the 20th celebration in Gerlach (Blackrock). The townspeople are trying to organise a number of events.
