Hello there - I have always been looking for a comfortable car - I used to have a multijet 150 auto.

I have seen a Croma on sale at a dealership. It's a 2005 2.2 Prestigio manual. It is being sold as spares and repairs as he wants shot. Apparently a fault showed for the camshaft and it has been replaced but is still showing. Would this be a costly fix if it goes again?

The car has 77k on the clock, has 9 months MOT and he is willing to take my 2002 Astra as p/ex which would make it me buying a Croma for the princely sum of £200.

What do you think?

Hi Neil

May I suggest you are giving your Astra away? Why not offer just the £200 if you want the Croma. The 2.2 was the dearest to run.

Easy for me to say this, I have given up motoring after 65 years.

What Keith says.

Also, check the road tax cost.

If you're doing a lot of mileage the fuel costs will mount up.

If you've got access to a fault code reader get the fault code/codes and post them here.

The diag port is in the cabin fuse box at your right knee. It's behind some cables but easy enough once you know where to look.
