do vectra c motors fit?

Hi,
Firstly while the Vectra units are physically and electrically the same the firmware (internal software) is different so they WON'T work.

Have you tried removing drying and cleaning (contact cleaner or WD40) al the electrical connectors on the pump unit? it sounds like a signal problem rather than a power one. Don't forget to reset the faults with MES.

HTH,

I managed to get the other connectors off today looked all clean but gave them a spray with contact cleaner anyway, still no pas and same code came back.

and one changed a pas motor? if i find it hard just to reach the back connector i don't think the pump is going to be easy.

anyone selling a nice auto croma cheap? found 1 on auto trader and 1 on ebay but both seem a little over priced.

According to eLearn you have to remove the undertray, intermediate exhaust pipe and a gearbox bracket. So it sounds like a bit of a faf but not the cost of new car.
It would be interesting to get hold of a Fiat and a Vauxhall unit and compare them. I think water may have got into the electronics of your unit. Unfortunatly as the is power permantly applied it aids electrolytic corrosion so things go wrong quickly.

i've never had an undertray i thought it was a good idea to not get one so alternator didn't get too hot, but that might have saved the pas :( the loom i got off the vectra had a big rubber boot over the plug, that might have saved it too if we had that on ours.

once the stuff in the way is moved is it just 2 nuts on the pump and then its out?

There are the two hydraulic pipes too. Looks like a single manifold plate on pump or two couplings on the rack.
Under trays and cooling are quite complex. Taking one off can make cooling worse due to pressure changes (high or low) under the car. It is not intuitive, I did some instrumentation work on an air cooled aircraft engine many years ago to verify the cooling baffles and it did not work the way we expected.
