Had my 1:9 deisel auto oil changed after warning ligjt came on on accelleration seems to overheat now after a short drive and stick in gear is there a code to reset the auto box hermes herald

Auto oil change is not a straightforward task, possibly not enough oil?
Oil change procedure may be on here somewhere.

I think you cannot access the gearbox ecu.

Who did the "oil" change and how long ago? I assume you mean the automatic transmission fluid was replaced, not the engine oil? Sorry to sound pedantic, but it's not clear from your post. Your first move should be to go to the garage that changed the fluid.
The proceedure (in eLearn under maintenance) is very detailed and specific (start with cold cooland a specfic number of selector changes, a specific fluid temperature range using examiner or MES before you take a plug out to check the level. If the garage was not a specialist, they may not have done it correctly.
Go back to the garage theat changed the fluid and get them to sort it out.

Right, this sounds similar to what mine did, and I have to say that it sounds like the Achilles heal of an other wise bullet proof box fitted to the Croma during 2005 and 2006 has become apparent.

The valve blocks/soleniods have a tendency to stick and/or fail. Unfortunately they are £500 a pop and about the same to fit.

I would take it to a transmission specialist
