Hello all. I have an issue with my Croma. 1.9 petrol 2006. what happens while driving along all is well, however when wanting to turn in to a driveway, petrol station you slow down and the engine will just cut out, causing the sterring to go extreamly heavy. Turn the key and the engine will start fine and you can pull in. Extremly dangerous if turning right across a junction.
The car has recently been fully seviced, with new cambelt and timing belts. This started to happen 5-6 weeks after the service so not certain if it is connected.
Any one faced this issue before, I have noticed that at idle its only around 600 RPM.
Any advice as always will be greatfully recieved.

Thanks.

Thanks Dave, fingers crossed it is something simple.:)

Well I stripped the battery down and cleaned the terminals and the multiple cables going to it, however after refitting, the car unfortunatly died again when slowing down to pull in to my driveway.

Is there a way of adjusting the idle speed as that does seem low??

Nope, is something I have looked at in the past, but never got around to getting one. Maybe now is the time
