My 1.9,16V Eleganza has finally worn through the leather on the 6 Sp gearknob, so I would like to replace it, providing it's no too expensive.
With Croma parts being rather rare on ebay.....does anyone know for sure whether Alfa 159, Vectra, Astra, or Signum ones are suitable replacements?
Or alternatively how easy is it to remove and retrim?..there are kits on ebay for vectra retrims which look pretty similar to the Croma one...
Its annoying but its not a £50 problem if you know what I mean... :)

Fingers crossed,

Peter.

Hi Again,

Sorry to re-open this thread....but does anyone know how to remove the manual 6 speed gearknob as used on 1.9 16v 150Bhp Eleganza?
I've tried unscrewing it anti-clockwise but it's feels like I'm going to break it ...so before I get too "manly" with it...has anyone else taken their's off...if so how?

Thanks,

Peter.

Hi I saw this on ebay cant see if leather but cheap enough if they fit like my sons Idea then pull and twist his gear knob did not brake

Folks,

For anyone else trying to remove their Manual 6 SP Gearknob....it does unscrew anti-clockwise.......but is very stiff....it looks like some threadlocking type compound was used at the factory........Enjoy.
PS: Vectra C 6SP Knobs do NOT fit as an alternative...totally different design altogether.
