Hello, new croma owner here.
Bought my dynamic 1.9 120 56 plate a couple days ago, 69000k on clock. Very clean and by all accounts in full working order. Except of course I have the 40mph wobble. Didn't pick it on test drive stupidly but thanks to this forum have ordered gm parts and will fix the dodgy drive shaft this week.
Does anybody have any tip as to getting the full history of my car?
Have the service book with stamps.
Came from Glasgow, then new castle to London and now in sussex with me. Any insight would be well appreciated. Even with the wobble I'm loving my car. But I have been driving a picasso!

Full history may be difficult.

However you should be able to go to any fiat dealer and ask them to check their SIGI database.

I don't fully know / understand what is included in the SIGI database but it does include "required campaigns" and "recall" actions for any Fiat car by model and serial number.

I would add that I gather some SIGI entries / missing items are of a non safety non critical action criteria so just because your car is not registered for "xyz" does not mean that you have a problem.

The Fiat dealer may/should be able to provide a registered service record (if done by a Fiat dealer) for the car.

My suggestion is find a local fiat dealer (other than the one you may have bought the car from) and say you have just purchased your Croma and you want to check if that there is anything that you/they need to do to the car to bring it up to Fiat's official "status".

Thanks for your advise. Will call into local fiat garage in the coming week to try find some info on my motor.

Welcome to a whole new world of pain. Croma ownership is what Dante had in mind when he envisioned his 7 circles of hell.

Other than that the Croma is great. I kept mine for seven years and I am perfectly sane. I know that because the voices tell me so. :)

Most souls are in hell because they had fun!
Going into 8th year in Jan. Methinks an XF might
earn me absolution! Thoughts?

Methinks you will probably be quids in. The Croma has to have been one of the most expensive cars I have owned in terms of depreciation and general maintenance.

This compared to an XJ12 (series II) and a Pontiac Firebird.

The next worst car was also Italian, only because I had to scrap it after 8 months, even though it was only 4 years old. However it too was one of the most fun: an Alfasud 1.5 ti. I am certain that on the winter days I could actually see it dissolving.
