When my brakes were getting changed we noticed that the brake pad wear sensor cable was broken as well (what were the odds) so I need to change it as well.

I got a Bosch one from ECP for £6 and will have a bash at changing it today if the weather holds. It looks straightforward enough but is there anything in particular I should be aware of before I start?

Brian I had this on the Marea. It had pulled the wire from the plug situated in the wheel arch . I had to get another male/ female connector from the local car spares shop and solder on a "bullet" type end to the wire end and make it fit the hole in the pad. Your new one being BMW may fit straight in but if it does go get some Euro Millions tickets for Friday ;-)

Cheers Tarquin :) Is anything ever easy???

It's a much better day today so fingers crossed.

Did you fit the new Brake pad sensor, did it fit OK and more to the point, does it work. If so do you have a link for the one that you purchased.

Thanks.

Hi U2ME, I've been too busy to have a go at it so far and I'll probably end up asking someone else to do it for me.

I got the part from ECP and I'll post the part number. They do 2 a pagid one and a bosch one but they were both the same price so I got the bosch one.

BrianMcL, no worries, I changed my warning sensor on Saturday, took less then 30 minutes. Probably helped that I had only just changed the pads, so I knew exactly what to do. All working fine now.
