The driver's side door mirror glass on my Croma does is rusty and now vibrates, the passenger side door mirror glass does not vibrate.

Will replacing the mirror glass and clip-on backing plate cure the vibration?

Is replacing the driver's mirror glass a simple job?

Hello- I have had to replace both mirror glasses on mine. On one I used the "stick on" type which fell off after a month as soon as the weather turned frosty.The next one I used the one with the black clip frame on the back.Dont know which model of car you have but it will probably have the heated type of mirror. The mirrors activate on heating when the rear screen is used so it was probably the reason the "stick on "one didnt last.
Its an easy job to replace the mirror,it will probably pop out when you use a couple of screwdrivers, one at each side. If for some reason the original black frame stays in place when the glass is removed dont be too rough removing it as the rear frame is needed to click the new one into. Make sure you push the new mirror in with finger tips only and evenly as yuo have to hear it click into place and be even all way round.
Finally when ordering it would be worth ringing the dealer as they say things like "L/H side" and as I wanted a passenger side mirror but they sent a drivers side , After a phone call I found out that they meant L?H from the front of the car!!!???:bang:. They replaced it pronto and said they would look into this.
Dont be afraid to take this job on its easy .

My mechanic replaced the mirror a month ago and all is well, no vibration, it heats up and adjusts position ok.

I think the vibration was due to the backing plate on the old mirror being broken.
