Hopefully not related to my newfound caravanning hobby but the Croma's developed an interesting new fault.

Not long after I pull away and turn the steering wheel to the right the brake pad wear light comes on. There isn't anything wrong with the pads so I imagine it must be the sensor.

Is it a complicated thing to change?

I have had this problem with most cars I have had with a warning light for pad wear. The cause in 4/5 cases was the wire coming adrift from where its supposed to run an fretting against a metal part ( caliper / spring / ball joint etc). Once it occurred when the plug actually pulled out of the pad and made contact with the caliper, some dozy twonk had fastened it too tightly to the brake pipe with a cable tie and the first time I went full lock it pulled the wire out of the pad!!
Just check the state of the wire before rushing anywhere

There is one on each side at the front I think runs from the inside pads

Belay the above- Just checked on E-Learn and there is only a mention of a left side wear cable so I reckon it will be on the passenger side!! this would explain why I have never had a warning for pad wear although I have had the tell tale grinding noise from the drivers side pads as they have worn out with no warning on the dash.
Sounds like Fiat didnt bother to swap the wiring for RH drive Cromas!!
