Hello everyone,

I have this error for a while on my climate control. Because of the weather, I didnt managed to reach the sensor yet and see whats going on. Did anyone else had problems with it ?

Most likely corrosion or a short in wiring or jack. It's upfront somewhere behind the grill and bumper. Get to it do a visual inspection and spray some switch cleaner (not WD40).

Dobar Dan notorious,

Thanks for replying. Are you sure is behind the grill ? In eLearn says that its in pollen filter compartment, but driver side (left one) and I have to take wiper and cover off. Thanks for the info, I will use some dry contact cleaner.

Rob

If you take the wiper black covers off, the fixings are quarter turn to release and lock, and tend to jump out and disappear

Oh yeah, next to the polen filter makes sense. In that case most likely water ingress is the culprit as it is a known problem for the runoff water tube to fall off, be too short or clogging up.

You know I have a bad smell only if i use the compressor, used 2 types of spray cleaners, one even from Valeo and still smells bad, but only when using the compressor. For example in the winter all was good as the compressor didnt worked. Any ideas? Could be that tube's fault?

Thanks,
Rob

Spray cleaners used from the cabin have not been very effective for me. Foam cleaner used from the outside through the filter hole has but it can damage the fan or its controller which must not be turned on for at least 30min after spraying.

Always used the ones from outside, didn't knew I can burn the fan controller. I must be more careful next time then :(

Got to the sensor, its clean, contacts clean. Maybe hes faulty. Here are some pictures with his location and code.

Use one of the air-con 'bombs' to make your car smell fresh again, set heater to recycle interior cabin air then open can 'bomb' and leave on passenger footwell and quickly shut door. Takes about 15 minutes(y)

Thank you for the info . I never knew about those until you mentioned and searched the web for more info. I will try to find any some in my area.

Rob

type in 'air con bomb' on ebay, loads for between £4-15;)

I searched those bombs in my area, but didn't find any. I bought one with active foam, but I think i used it wrong. On the bottle it said to spray it on all the accessible vents so I did. Used all 300ml like it says on the spray and had some juice pouring from my glove box and under my wheel. Waited 30 min for the foam to do the job and then started the heating for 30 min. It smells nice, hope is all good.

This is the product I've used: http://www.makra.de/makraportal/ProduktDetail.aspx?group=003.02.04&ID=100-82

The sensor is defective I think. The water can't reach his location and it looks like, so does the connector. I'll try to check for a new one.

Well, finally found the sensor after previously found the Fiat OEM code in ePer. The sensor code is 46845578 and it costs 80-100 euro. I will order mine next month after I get my paycheck and I'll keep you updated regarding the error, hope it goes off. Cheers !

I didn't replace it, it's too expensive and I can live without it. I don't understand why it got broke in the first place, mine had no signs of water or dirt, so I guess it is a production or design problem. I don't want to risk the price to find out if it works 2 years or more, I can change the recirculation myself :)
