This morning driving to work I started noticing more turbo noise than normal. As in the whistle it makes while making boost. I had normal boost pressures though(max approx. 1.6 bar, i have a gauge in the car) and the car was driving fine. On the way home the sound was still noticeably louder. Specifically over 1 bar or pressure. As I was driving home I noticed that the car started to get more and more sluggish and boost pressures were starting to fall off. By the time I got home I wasnt even seeing 1 bar of pressure. So I looked under the hood and sure enough the upper intake hose had a split in it. its the last hose before going into the intake. Guess im going back to the Fiat dealer.

I did a search and didnt find any posts on this. Anyone else had this happen?

Also has anyone else ever watched this pipe and revved the engine? My hose even with the split in it swells like a balloon! Is that normal?

Note: I do have a performance tuning box on the car which I think creates a bit more boost then factory.

Its common for the intake pipe to go and they are not cheap, pick up a vectra c one from ebay or breakers and its easy to replace. For first aid wrap the split with a couple of feet from a roll of heavy duty tape.

Anyone have a specific model/year for a vauxhall that will work?

Gonna call the dealer today and see how much it is.

Part ordered...55 pounds. Ive attached the drawing I got from the dealer. This might help someone in the future by having the part number.

It was #3 on the attached drawing.
