Hey guys, I'm new here and am posting on behalf of my dear mother who's had a Croma for a few years and the drivers side headlight has gone. I'm not technically minded and have never replaced a bulb in any car and the only way I can see to do the job is to remove the air filter box and proceed that way. Is there an easier way or am I going to have to bust out the spanners?

I have looked through the forum and this seems to be the most popular method and there are literally no guides on the Internet to see how it's done! Whether it makes a difference or not I don't know but it's a 1.9 'Prestigio' model. Any light shed on this would be a huge help, thanks!

I did replace all mine (sidelights, dipped and full beam) a while back, and I don't think I removed the air box (could be wrong though).

However, I have what you'd call "pianist's hands" - long fingers. I do remember having a few red dent marks on my wrists for a while after doing it.

I did mine recently and it was a tricky job, if I remember correctly I used a mirror to see what I was doing and worked from in front of the car.

Agreed - you need to look into the headlight to see what the bulb tip is doing. There's no chance of seeing anything in the back. From what I remember, the connector pulls off and the spring retainer hinges from one side. I didn't use a mirror as I didn't have one small enough, but it would have been useful.

I do remember that I did change the nearside ones first as a warm-up, as access is not as bad. Your best bet is probably to take out the nearside one and put it back again, as a rehearsal. This will train your fingertips!
