I am I correct in thinking that a 1.9 Multijet 16v Engines Cambelt should be changed at 72000 miles OR every 5 years like a Alfa 147/156/Stilo JTD?? As I 4000 miles from this milestone, or should I follow my Manual and wait till 90,000 miles?? I think that 90k IS too much till a cam belt is changed inc aux belts. Advice needed!

Alfa 1.9's belt change recommended at 72000. Very few reports of belt trouble, but usually caused by seized water pump, or tensioner. Diesels probably do half the revs of a petrol engine. Belt breakage doesn't usually bend valves, it has cam followers that are intended to snap. I doubt if your Fiat dealer has heard of the water pump problem.

To be an the safe side i would do it at 72k. I personally will not be waiting to 90k to do mine.

I think that I will follow my instincts and change at 72K to include the water pump as Keith says. I checked the alfa forum and the 1.9 MJET's have there belts changed at 72k/5 Years to include the water pump and thermostat as well.
