Re: What really is GM on the Croma????

All Vectra C and Signum, but you need one for the appropriate axle weight. Vectra C springs are notorious for breaking..!

Re: What really is GM on the Croma????

Thanks for the reply DoIdon'ti
being a bit thick when it comes to cars how do I know the axle weight. When I look at the parts for thr vectra c (Sigrum) it just comes back with one part No.

it seems that fiat dont keep any parts for thr Croma 2 in the Uk and when it comes to suspension parts none are held by fiat in Italy they rely on the suppliers, so if we want to keep these Cromas running we need to start talking GM parts numbers to each other, I have traced brake part Nos and will post them on the Thread in the near future. Because my croma is being repaired under warranty I have to wait for the part to arrive through the Fiat system. My car has now been off the road since 24th April.

Re: What really is GM on the Croma????

The axle weights are on a plate fixed to the front structure of the car, under the bonnet - they're also in the owner's manual in the 'specifications' section. If you search for "axle weights" on www.vectra-c.com then I believe that should clarify things. If all else fails then get suspension bits for a 3-litre diesel Signum and you won't be far off. There's often someone on the Vectra forum selling springs as they often get swapped for Eibach lowered and stiffened ones.

Likely to be the exact same valeo (or equiv) part just re-boxed for FIAT / GM.

Ittl also depend on Flywheels and Gearboxes to get the correct part.
Thanks chrisgolfpar thanked for this post

Re: What really is GM on the Croma????

A quick search on eper for the part number (55195392) then putting that in Google says that this part number is shared with the Alfa 159 and should sell at approx 169. I'd advise caution because when I've searched for other parts in the past on Google there have been GM alternatives listed by third-party manufacturers, but in the case there aren't.

Which doesn't mean there isn't a GM alternative - sorry I can't be more helpful! If you have the luxury of time then the specifications for this part are listed on the net, you could try taking them into a motor factors and comparing them with the GM item?

HTH.

The specs can be found in the Valeo online catalogue!
http://www.valeoservice.com/html/unitedkingdom/en/

Click "Valeo Web Catalog" at the top and then good luck

Thanks DoI Don't. I got lucky on this Found shop4parts on the net, they only deal in Fiat original spares and they seem to be able to do cross ref and you are correct the clutch on the Alfa 1.9 d is the same as the croma 1.9 8v multijet. I was also recommended by my garage to replace the thrust bearing and the slave cyl and this cross ref with the fiat punto grande. What worrys me is why a clutch plate sould break apart after only 44k, ther was no warning like it slipping it just went.
Fiat quoted 675.0 to do the work, I dont't think my local garage is going to be much cheaper. The parts cost 303.0

Was a bad night, and tonight is not much better. I was obviously writing / spouting complete rubbish so decided to pull/scratch what I wrote.

Re: What really is GM on the Croma????

I need front brake discs and may have to buy a steering rack for my 2005-55 1.9 16V diesel.

Do you know if there are identical Vauxhall or Saab front brake discs or steering rack?

Or can you recommend cheaper and / or better brands?

Thanks in anticipation.
