Hi all.
I wonder if anyone out there can shed any light on the small problem I have with my '92 2.0 turbo ie Croma [8valve] ?

It has an intermitant starting problem in that it will just spin over on the starter and not fire, it will do this 4 to 5 times and other times it will fire straight away, it idles lumpy, say on three cylinders once fired regardless. Once warm it's fine.
The car will do this hot or cold.
It is standard apart from a K+N cone filter and dump valve, plugs, leads, dizzy cap and rotor arm are all new. I have also replaced the water temp sender.

what do you meen spin over the starter ? does the engine turn always.. or do the starter spin freely without turning the engine?

btw do any have some diagrams over engine electronics on the fiat croma ?

By that I mean the engine turns over, not just the starter motor. I did inspect the car the other day and it appears I have a hole in the centre section of the exhaust. More expense:bang:

I have been searching my self for a while for diagrams, manual etc but I dont think there is any thing available. The only other option is to pop in to your fiat dealer and ask if you can have a look at the car/parts list on his pc in the stores, done this myself and the veiws are very good

Right. Back from the bodyshop[car that it  ] Thats the quarter panels and wheel arches sorted (y)

I stripped off all the pipe work from the inlet manifold through to the turbo, cleaned everything, fitted all new jubilee clips etc, found some oil in the pipe work etc but not a significant amount.
The earth lead had rusted through at the gearbox mount and a previous keeper had fitted another earth to the left side of the engine bay, removed this bodge, rewired the earth to the correct points on the gearbox and just below the strut top, trickle charged the battery, now starts on the button every time :slayer:
I also found a couple of loose fixings so air leaking would not have helped.

Total cost? Three hours work on a sunny afternoon (y)

Fraguzz. I got the eper spare parts catalogue from ebay, about £7.99 I think, this has all veiws and more and has part numbers, everything, well worth the money. It's the main dealer programme.
