Hello! I'm normally on the Barchetta forum but I'm over here as I'm thinking about adding a Coupè to my drive to keep the Barchetta company. I live in Italy, near Turin (I'm English). I've found a red Coupe for €3,000 but it's done 200,000km (around 130k miles). Is it too much? What sort of things should I look for that might go wrong with this mileage? I think the price is reasonable - it's a 1994 16v turbo and from the photos it looks good. But before I go view it I'd like to be armed with some knowledge from the experts here. I really appreciate it!

On another note, Chris Bangle lives 30 minutes from me so if you ever plan a trip down as a group I'd be happy to set up a meet with him. He's very proud of the Coupe and the most interesting person you'll ever meet. It's a great drive down from the UK. I'm trying to convince the Barchetta boys but you know how us soft top guys are.. :)

the Coupe in the UK is still cheap..( undervalued)
so not really a true comparison - for £2000 here you'd get a very good one..probably with less miles.
At 130K miles - it would need a VERY thorough service history in my book.
the mileage isn't excessive..but enough if not maintained properly.
for reference..lots of 20V's like this..https://www.gumtree.com/p/fiat/fiat-coupe-pininfarina-20v/1160855686
I hope that helps, a little.

Hi varesecrazy, thanks so much for the quick reply. Yes, in general, cars are much more expensive here.. I just found out it needs a new turbo, which is why the price is 'good' but they say they're open to negotiate. I see turbos are around €400 in Germany. Do you know if there's a big issue changing them? I'm a fairly competent amateur mechanic, so can take on most things. The car looks good - all original, so I'm tempted. It wont do many miles as it will be a 4th car (I'm driving my wife crazy..). Thanks again!

Forgot to say - I would love to buy one in the UK but you drive on the wrong side of the road ;):):):p and driving a RHD car here is a real pain. Also, cars are rust free here. I see Barchetta owners can have terrible problems in the UK but mine is 14 years old and doesn't have any. Not sure how Coupes fair with rust. But I guess a Fiat is a Fiat ;)

Here's a photo of the car in question..
