Four months later...

...it's arrived!

Now the fun begins.

Shame about the critique at the time. If Bangle had kept it up instead of moving to BMW and subsequent demise in a bottomless pit of committee designed comas on wheels he'd be curator of the Tate Modern by now.

Back on topic...

First job...

...G3 and resin polish the grey cloudy headlights. :)

Anticlimax I know but I only had ten minutes while my dinner was cooking and I've been at work all day. ;)

I'm warming to the colour red as well.

First drive. :)

The wobbly wheels are very wobbly. The front left and rear right have been buckled. Sounds like a tank thanks to the exhaust, goes like a scalded cat and has the Disney Big Hero 6 "fah-la-la-la la" waste gate. :slayer:

First walk around bodywork assessment.

Front wings are both scabby but the passenger side is replaceable.

Driver side rear quarter needs half a day or so...

...the passenger side rear quarter needs a day or two. ;)

The bonnet isn't as bad as I thought and could be repairable...

...as painting a yellow bonnet red is near impossible I'll have a crack at the original one first.

For the trash pile...

...buckled passenger side rear wheel...

...buckled diver side front wheel. How do you buckle the passenger side rear and drivers side front?

Disposable brake parts, bumpers (the front isn't bad but could be a pain in the faff to put the little wrong right), boot lid and the alarm will be more effective in a skip.

Hmmmm Trash...

P.S £900 for a basic outer spray job? :bang:
Looks like I'll be buying a gazebo for my garden again later in the year. :slayer:

While my breakfast was cooking I thought I would address the MOT issue that is the most concerning. I replaced the burned out light bulb. ;)

While I was there and before I knew it...

...I had pushed out the side crease...

...most of the post dent. I can't get to the bottom pin push as it's on the lip. I may accidentally forget to put the lock back. ;)
The bumper needs to come off so I can fill the lip fold dent so it can wait.

One issue is the oxidization of the aluminium light holder.

I've seen these mirror polished in the past but I'll be painting them with the rest of the car.

Chip away the stuff holding them in place so I can bench polish and/or repair or try with the holder in place? I'm tempted to fill the outer lip gaps as well to give the delocked rear a really smooth look that you'd have to know the car well to notice.

Just finished my breakfast and yes it was a little overdone. ;)

Truck and rig ready to collect the N/A tomorrow. :)

I've been looking at the dents in the bonnet thinking I could pull them out with a few well placed spot welds instead of trying to push them out from inside. Just to minimalise the amount of filler required. It would be a lot less faff than respraying a yellow bonnet to red.

My best guess is two coats of grey and at least three coats of red primer to stop any yellow coming through. Unless I get it blasted and etch primed.

So the N/A is a parts donor (that's a polite way of putting it).

My usual first job...

...came second this time.

The spoiler had to go. 99p start no reserve eBay skip. ;)

The holes in the boot lid aren't that bad but welding them could make the whole surface warp. Time to teach my nephews how do lead filling. ;)

I'd like to keep...

...the original stereo and...

...cam' cover but the rest can go. If anyone needs any parts let me know (I may be keeping the rear discs and bits to convert my Bravo).

Started stripping the N/A and the top half of the engine appears to be fine. Inlet cam' and covers somewhere safe for later and the variator and cam' belt adjusters are both fine. The distributor cap and rotor arm look brand new and along with the HT's and coil pack are in the eBay pile. ;)

I'll get more done tomorrow. :)
