A very good day everyone, I have recently acquired a secondhand fiat from a friend year 1997. Was driving recently and the car stalls when gear is in neutral mode, the battery light would light up and the fuel injection indicator too. This happened several times and the only way to drive is when it is in gear mode. Can anyone advise what is the area I need to look at to fix this matter? Thank you.

Look at the idle control valve. Unplug it then remove from throttle body by undoing the two torx screws. Give it a really good clean with carb cleaner.
Years of grime stops it from working correctly.
