Re: thermostat loction

If you follow the top radiator hose backwards, the thermostat is on the end of it. Its between the engine and battery and is part of an aluminium casting with several hoses attached.

You buy the whole casting with the stat inside then swap it over. You will need to replace the hose clips with jubilee clips as the fiat ones can't be reused.

Re: thermostat loction

oh dear, if it been running like that for a long time could be all sorts of things going wrong inside the engine. if water is going down and you cant see none dripping on the floor, then it points to possible head gasket gone

Re: thermostat loction

It might just be that your radiator is stuffed. If its not cooling very well due to lost fins it will cause overheating, and if it is leaking the water can evaporate pretty quickly from it so you have no obvious signs of a leak.

To be honest I wouldn't hold out for finding a sprint blue door. Chances are when you do find one the colour match will be off and it will be obvious the door has been changed. It would probably be easier to buy a door on condition, rather than colour, and then get it colour matched to your existing paintwork.

If you do specifically want a Sprint Blue door I know that there is one available in Holland. The guy who runs the Dutch Coupe Forum (LUM) is breaking a sprint Blue Coupe.
